Can't wait to see peoples in (Montreal) Canada start buying my stuff !! lol ... So far only few are willing to pay $5 for a 2L lol
What kind of black cover do you use to cover worm bin
You’re the greatest cap’
Can't understand all audio.
I think you should also put a plywood floor in it, sitting on top of the 2x4 base. This will make it easier to rake the casting off the plywood flooring and into a dust pan or flat head shovel. Currently the harvesting method involves trying to get all the castings off the floor and up over the 2x4 base with that flat wooden rake you have and I am sure many castings are left on the floor. So harvesting leaves a mess I would guess. By raking the castings down onto a wooden floor that is sitting on top of the 2x4 base, then you can sweep all the casting into a dust pan and leave very little mess if any at all. The additional cost would be 1 extra sheet of plywood. Also, can it be put on heavy duty casters so it can be rolled around the shop?
Thankyou Captain Matt i am only just starting and I am very excited after binging on your videos, I noticed an electric lead from the wall into your large Bins, is that a heat mechanism for constant temperature ? Its fairly cold in the southern states of Australia at the moment and im struggling to maintain your recommended temperature range.
It’s lovely and I like it, but I found it’s not available for purchase in the uk. So can’t get it. And the sifters I have got that are metal have gone a bit rusty and stuff, they weren’t cheap either.
I have one and can attest how easy it is to use. It’s built like a tank, very high quality materials and makes sifting a breeze.
😊
Nice commercial
NICE! Thanks for showing that!
good stuff.
got one 2 weeks ago!! An absolute GAME CHANGER.......AWESOME
Based on it's size & shape it looks like placing it on a bucket might be an option also
Interesting idea AV - perhaps an adapted mortar bin could have a hole that fills buckets for casting storage.
Nice new toy you got there Captain.
🇳🇿❤️🪱
How much for the everything with all the different size screens?
Check the prices at WormGear.com - being a PRO tool it’s not cheap, but it will last.
We ordered some worms from them. They arrived and are doing great!
Where did you get the black trays?
$296!?
For hobbyists… DIY or cheaper options might be best. But for PRO folks selling worms or castings, tools are an investment and time savings adds up fast. The WormGear TurboSift is laser cut and will last for years.
Not terrible pricing for a fully stainless specialty tool, go look at the prices of some fully stainless medical equipment or something similar, you'll find far more basic tools with way higher price tags. $300 is very reasonable for the increase in production, you're only buying it once
It can be sold much cheaper if you don’t buy each screen size. I think it was $175 when I purchased one screen with the turbo sifter.
That is definitely a nice sifter. Thanks for sharing.
Hello from Amherst Ohio
You buy the biodegradable bottles because it’s the right thing to do. If other people don’t care then you are carrying for them. Great video
Again many thanks from across the pond (Holland). We love to follow your worm farm.
What are the large black trays for soil collection called? Trying to find them in the uk
Great video, thanks for taking the time to share the knowledge. Have you noticed BT negatively affecting the castings or worms?
I wish I knew about how to sell mine. Mine are like 4-7 inches long.
Would sand work instead of rock dust? Or is the sand to big?
Hi, Captain Matt, I have a question. I added spent mushroom blocks to my worm bin once, but thought the seeds in it made it difficult to identify cocoons and never tried it again. Wasn't lucky to get it for free like you guys do also. I had to pay for it. Lol. Nonetheless . My question is, does all mushroom spent blocks contain seeds? and if they do, I guess grinding it will help break it down for the worms to consume?
how do i get rid of maggots in my worm bins
Awesome...thx cap
Go big or go home! Just playing. I wish you all well.
Thank you y’all!
Please redo the audio. I am old and wearing hearing aids so the issues with the audio are exacerbated. I can't understand what you are saying but I really want to. I have the subtitles on and that helps but I find that many of the most important words are not translated into the subtitles with clarity so I don't know what they are.
I agree! 100% I'm NOT old, but I thought I was loosing my hearing. Outside of that, excellent video
I have very rich soil and put down some St. Augustine squares. My yard is all St. Aug. So I started flipping the squares over in this 8x10 area... now in a month, I have over 900 worms, some 6 inches long and fat!!! My worm farm is now going strong!
I'm making one in my garage Right now. Great plan
Now this is the best YT channel on worm farming I've ever seen. Thanks so much Captain!
Oh my goodness 🪱🪱🪱🪱🪱
These videos have become a favorite for my family to watch. I have 2 sons, (7 and 5) and the oldest came up with the idea of selling worms for fishing and to have them for compost. At $4 for a pack of worms here in Vermont I thought it was a great idea so we started watching these videos and now they both meet me at the door when I get home from work to go out to the garage and check the worms! We have them in a 100 gallon water bucket and getting ready to start production buckets. We can't thank you enough for the knowledge your sharing with us! So many of my questions have been answered by your videos.
Is yeast ok to feed worms?
Would it be a good idea to use fish tank water instead of fresh water when making vermicompost tea? I presume it could even more nutrients
Is it okay to grow mushrooms in the bin
Thank you sir!
Do they need oxygen?
Why would you not put red wigglers in your compost piles?
Capt Matt who is that nice young man that assist you? Just wondering?
saw him say on part 1 it’s a family member, assuming his son
Where did you come by the stand?
I didn't see the signage for the stand on the labels and signage page. Is that out there anywhere?
Awesome video! So the worms will straight up eat the green grass? I thought it woulda have had to die and decompose THEN they worms will eat it. So its a good idea to give the worms green grass clippings then to eat? Thanks!!
Loved the comment about picking worms up, off the street, while taking a walk. Whenever working around my yard, here in the Pacific Northwest, anytime I pick something up, after it’s been wet,I find worms. I always pick them up and put them in my compost pile. Just screened out my pile and moved the bigger parts and worms to the new pile. The compost was excellent.
